Wow! A new blog...

I am the WORST blogger EVER! I think it's because
I "get it all out" on the radio show every morning so I really don't feel like
saying any more once I've left the air. Sorry. I'll try a little harder to jot down a few items
more often. Perhaps I should just hire a "ghost blogger" and let them handle it.
It might prove to be more interesting than me blogging about not blogging. Perhaps I'll blog about that...

To Facebook...or not to Facebook...

I lost a bet with my cohost and now must start a Facebook Page. I have reservations... I love computers and I think the ability for the internet to make our world smaller through communication is awesome, but I just don't have the time to commit to Facebook friends. I barely have time to occasionally update this blog. I guess your enjoyment of Facebook is what you put into it and no harm will come from any of this. It's just that I strive, by occupation, to not be boring and I'm afraid word will leak out that I have the dullest Facebook page on the planet. Here's hoping my new friends won't care...

Up to date...

It's 2009 and I just got my first cell phone. People stare in disbelief when I say it, but it's true.
My wife has had one for a decade, but I always balked because I value my free time and cell phones allow people to find you. With all the kids running in so many different directions though, Anne and I decided that we needed more reliable communication then the hit-and-miss style I was employing. So now I have the dreaded cell phone. If you get the voice mail, it's nothing personal. I'm just hiding...

Radiothon 2008 is now in the books! Another amazing, humbling three days of brave kids, great doctors and nurses, miracles and generosity. Down economy be damned! We raised $140,117 for the Children's Hospital of Illinois and have now gone over the one-million dollar mark for the event. To all of you who contributed, thanks from one lucky, four healthy kid, happy dad...

It's over...

It is now the fourth day after Thanksgiving. The feeding frenzy is long over. The leftover selection is as follows: One small zip-lock bag of turkey. One slice of pumkin pie. Today, we finish this thing...
